Kevin Kirsch is that husband in Julie’s Gift: Memories of London. Kevin, in this candid yet humorous memoir, shares how a trip to London with his wife forced him to do some serious soul-searching. Kevin and Julie take a vacation to London for their anniversary even though Kevin generally hates to travel. Julie, on the other hand, is the quintessential tourist. We follow the couple as they take a whirlwind tour of the most exciting London attractions like Westminster Abbey, Harrods, Tower of London, and Buckingham Palace. As they methodically check off the sites on Julie’s “monstrous” list, somewhere in between Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden, Kevin comes to an unexpected realization. The only problem is that his macho attitude and difficulty expressing himself prevents him from sharing that realization with Julie while on the trip. But, once home, Kevin decides to give Julie a surprise gift memorializing their adventure from his perspective, a gift she is sure to treasure forever.
