About the Book
|
A fun book that shows the college athlete how to balance athletics and school. This easy-to-read, illustrated guide is written in large friendly print and includes definitions at the bottom of the pages for some of the more difficult words. It teaches basic skills, including scheduling, reading, note taking, outlining, studying, memorizing, and most importantly - how to improve exam scores!
Written specially for the student on an athletic scholarship, to help that student maintain good grades without sacrificing athletic performance.
The book is co-authored by two professionals-one who received the top grade in 3 of 5 first year law classes-the other an excellent scholar and top athlete who appreciates that the student athlete has to juggle the intense and competing demands of academics and athletics.
Tamsen Valoir has a doctorate in molecular biology and two law degrees, totaling some 32 years of schooling. She has often lectured on how to write exams and has provided private tutorials for many types of standardized tests, ranging from grade school achievement tests to bar exams.
Jolanda "Jo" Jones is a Hall of Fame athlete, an award winning scholar, a Houston City Council Member, and competitor on Survivor: Palau. No one balances athletics, academics and life's obstacles better than Jo. Jo finished law school as a single mother in 1995 and was a three-time Olympic Trial qualifier and four time national track and field champion. Jo is also a highly sought-after motivational speaker, ranging in topics from networking to overcoming obstacles to team building.
