About the Book
Do you experience God’s power in your ordinary, everyday life? Does your faith make a difference in your life, your children’s lives and in your church? Is 1 Corinthians 4:20, “God’s Way is not a matter of mere talk, it’s an empowered life” (MSG) a reality for you or just another “sounds nice” verse? Yet, isn’t that what we yearn for; to live every day filled with God’s power instead of struggling through life on our own?

This book looks at two fundamental reasons for this lack of power. The first is that we have lost our reverence and awe for God. We see God’s primary responsibly to make us comfortable in this life. It is all about what God can do for us and not about worshipping a holy God whose ways are not our ways, whose thoughts are not our thoughts. The second is that we do not love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. We give God our left-overs not our first fruits.

This book provides a process to draw close to God and experience His power every day. We need to:

1. Acknowledge who God is.
2. Repent of our false images of God.
3. Love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
4. Obey God because we love Him and want to please Him.

This book concludes with applying this process to a community of faith. It is solidly based on Scripture with over 70 biblical references and written in every day, easy to understand language. Each chapter ends with discussion questions for group study.

Reviews
More Than Words is a very honest book. It helped me to see areas of my walk with Christ that had grown weaker…lost depth, joy, and sparkle. The teachings took me forward, to step back on the right path. The Holy Spirit brings hope in this book.
- Melany Hamilton, Associate Pastor, Bethany Presbyterian Church
