About the Book
The Year Winter Came Late is a story about a snowman, Mr. Sneezy Snew, who steals winter from Snowtown, a small town by a great lake to keep it for himself. When the townspeople realize winter is late, they demand the mayor of the town do something about it.

Luckily for the mayor and the townspeople, a little girl named Lisa is familiar with this snowman and knows how he works. She tells the people of the town she knows who has their winter and knows how to get it back. Lisa travels with three newly met friends, a robin, a rabbit, and a bear to the snowman’s hiding place and she convinces him to let her and her friends in. She challenges him to a contest and he gets to choose the game. He decides on his favorite, a game of riddles. He demands Lisa’s friends must also play, thinking he surely can beat each of them. When he ends up losing the game, as agreed and with a change of heart he tells Lisa he’s ready to take winter back to Snowtown.
