Based on the author’s lifelong passion and desire to draw closer to God, this book recommends a simple plan for beginning and deepening a relationship with the Supreme Being of the universe. What can friendship with God do for a person? What are the basic elements of a healthy relationship with God? How may one carve time out of every day to be alone with God? These are some of the questions Simply Start addresses. After identifying ten reasons to read the Bible and suggesting where to start, this book lays out a plan that includes reading and meditating on just a few Bible verses a day, applying scripture, and prayer. Finally, because faith in God is something that people catch from seeing it at work in people they know, rather than by merely reading about it in a book, the author encourages those who are searching for God to identify a person, small group, or faith community who will encourage them in their pursuit.
