About the Book
In the fall of 1944, World War II is raging across Europe as Hitler’s troops continue their aggression. A wounded American soldier awakens in a makeshift military hospital, unaware of who he is. He finds that he has memories of one person but the body of another. Aided by a French priest, he recovers and makes his way back to the United States, but discovers that his wife has remarried after the War Department informed her that he had died in battle. Wandering his hometown unrecognized like a ghost, he must decide what to do with his second chance at life. How does Mage Axum choose between the mind and body – between his memories of the old life in East Texas and the new body of James Karl that takes him to the Pacific Northwest? He struggles to find his place in life until fate intervenes and introduces him to the dynamic Betsie Blair, Palestine’s only female journalist. Together they will change postwar America and travel the world. Their adventures of war, love, aviation, politics, and second chances span two continents and half a century of America’s defining moments.

About the Author
Tucker E. Axum III Tucker Axum III is an international investigator who, like Socrates, believes that the unexamined life is not worth living, and embraces the equally important axiom of Carpe Diem!

Having grown up in the heart of Cajun country, it was only natural for him to become one of the Ragin' Cajuns and graduate from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette. Armed with degrees in criminal justice and foreign languages, he traded the bayous and experienced the rest of the world. With St. Augustine's declaration, "The world is a book and those who do not travel read only a page," Tucker has labored and/or leisured in over 60 countries on 5 continents.

In 2009, Tucker moved to Italy, where a work trip landed him on the beaches of Normandy. It was there that he became inspired to investigate the mysterious death of his great granduncle, Mage Axum, who was declared MIA for years before his body was discovered buried in a German farmer's field. This journey laid the foundation to what would become "The Reawakening of Mage Axum," a historical fiction novel in tribute to all those brave men and women who served the cause of freedom.
