About the Book
Living on a 50 acre farm in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, a family run by five sisters led a secretive life. They raised their own food, home-schooled their children and ran a family store. They needed little from the outside world, except for living organ donors.

Young and healthy people were kidnapped and kept in secret rooms in the family's barn. Well fed and well cared for, the specimens, as they were called, unwillingly donated their organs as they were needed. The harvested organs went to the highest bidders. Once a "specimen" was no longer useful as a donor, their last use was as animal feed.
