About the Book
|
The Fighting Jack is the first book in the children's series "Jordan's Fish Tales" written by 7 year old Jordan Leitenbauer. Jordan was disappointed with the selection of books in the school library, especially for boys. So, he decided to write his own series about marine life. He thought that this would be interesting for younger children.
The Fighting Jack is a delightful tale about Jack, the Amberjack fish, and his accidental encounter with a bully of a Bull Shark. With quick thinking, Jack figures out a way to elude the bully shark only to find out later that the playground rumor is that he fought with the shark. Jack has to set the record straight.
This tale is a wonderful story for children with an anti-bullying theme. It is a perfect fit for the early reader and is easy for children to comprehend since it is written from a child's perspective. The story is also filled with "bubble facts" which help children learn about Jack and the Amberjack species of fish.
