About the Book
Brian Hughes thinks he's created the perfect life until he wakes up one morning and it all goes straight to hell. His fiance is dead under suspicious circumstances, and he's the obvious suspect. On his heels are a disillusioned ex-cop and his fiance's mother, both of whom would like to see him get an extended trip upstate courtesy of the governor. The only things he has going for him are the lawyer he raised from childhood and a knack for doing whatever it takes to survive.

About the Author
Robert Ledford was born in Independence, Kentucky, the son of a blue-collar worker and an elementary school teacher who quit teaching to raise a family. Robert’s fondest childhood memories are of his mother reading books to him and his four younger siblings at bedtime. “She read everything from Moby Dick to Winnie the Pooh,” he said. “Mom was a big fan of variety.”
