About the Book
|
Crown
& Anchor is a classic mystery and suspense novel with
a religious twist. The amateur detective, Skye McLeod, is a woman
minister who is working as the chaplain at a seminary. The victim
is a well-liked student who has tried to help poor and disadvantaged
people, volunteering his time at various food pantries and other helping
agencies. In her first attempt to solve a mystery, Skye McLeod, uses
her wits, her intuition, and the information gleaned from various
sources such as the students and employees of the seminary, as well
as the homeless woman who lives on the grounds, and a retired theology
professor with whom she lives. The professor is convinced that Skye
is drawn into mystery because she has prayed the Prayer of St. Francis
on her way across campus. Also on the case are Austin homicide detectives
and a student who turns out to be more than just a student. A glimpse
of Austin, of seminary life, of short theological discussions, and
a love for the diversity of people give the novel its character.
