The author, Bill Menzel, wrote poems on the back of his wife Maria's birthday and holiday cards all through their years of courtship and marriage. Maria saved them and created albums out of them. Bill's poems are often tender, sometimes erotic and occasionally melancholy. They were written to wish Maria love and happiness and are presented as a tribute to a life time of romance.

Bill Menzel met Maria while recovering from a severe wound that he got as a 19 year old paratrooper in Vietnam. Bill became a successful executive and consultant and Maria collected all the poems he wrote on the greeting cards he gave her over 40 years of marriage. |
