“Simply the most productive type of conference I've been to.”
“My best professional development experience all year!”
“The roundtable and the magic that happens after that almost guarantees success.”
“It is an incredibly fulfilling experience to be able to not only participate in a conference but to shape its future.”
“The format is excellent for collaboration and networking.”
“This conference changed the trajectory of my life and studies.”
-Comments from peer conference attendee evaluations

Over the last twenty years, thousands of people have praised peer conferences with comments like these. Now, in his new book Conferences That Work: Creating Events That People Love, Adrian Segar, the creator of peer conferences, explains why attendees are so enthusiastic about them, and provides complete details on how to organize and run one.

The book is divided into three parts.

In Part I, Reengineering the Conference, you’ll discover how key assumptions made about the format and structure used in most conferences today are fundamentally flawed, and you’ll learn a better way to structure what happens at a conference, a way that significantly improves the conference experience of each individual attendee.

In Part II, Planning and Preparing for Your Peer Conference, Adrian Segar takes you step by step through everything you need to know to prepare for your conference.

And in Part III, Running Your Peer Conference, he covers conference setup and the nitty-gritty details of running a successful conference, from start to finish.

Besides clear explanations and plenty of examples, Conferences That Work: Creating Events That People Love includes insightful sidebars illuminating key details as well as entertaining real-world stories illustrating important concepts.

Whether you’re a conference planner, a professional who wants to benefit from focused, face-to-face connections with peers, or just someone who wants to share with and learn effectively from fellow enthusiasts, Conferences That Work: Creating Events That People Love is your one-stop resource of practical information and tools to help you plan and facilitate conferences that are meaningful and memorable-every time.
