About the Book
|
It is 1958. The long-closed Lyric theatre sits in the middle of a block of dilapidated buildings. Jack Crawford’s first real job is to help restore this old movie house to its former glory. With support from an entrepreneurial developer, he must deal with tradesmen, city building inspectors, playwrights and lawyers. Along the way, he becomes entangled with a rich socialite, who has an eye for young men, discovers a hidden treasure in the theatre and ultimately manages to get his career as a actor back on track again.
Jack Crawford’s theatre adventure began with FIVE MINUTES TO CURTAIN and continued through THE SECOND SEASON – both novels by Fred T. Blish. All three novels are an exciting reading experience for anyone who is true lover of theatre!
