About the Book
|
The Carver cousins,
Dave and Andy, realize the dream of finishing the Eagle, their homebuilt
airplane. While on their final test flight, the teenagers help Dave's
father, the well-known anchorman of Channel 7 News, by covering
a breaking story about a potential environmental disaster. At the
same time, they assist in the rescue of a kidnapped teen-age girl,
Pamela Riley, from a sinking boat.
Their adventures, however, have just begun as they leave home on
their first cross-country flight. Eagle suffers serious hidden damage
during a violent storm, resulting in a crash landing in the mountains,
and into the hands of terrorists. Taken prisoner, Dave and his injured
cousin learn of the murderous gang's planned attacks on major targets,
designed to strike fear and panic across the country.
Following their incredible escape with the unexpected aid of one
of the terrorists, and with the help of their crippled airplane,
the Carvers race the clock to carry crucial information to the authorities
before multiple explosions rock the Nation's capitol.
