About the Book
This book is about treasure finding.

It is a collection of engaging stories from the author’s life. His experiences and passion for science and engineering led him to Jesus, launching a lifelong pursuit of the what, why, and how God’s kingdom operates in our daily lives.

This life-changing account of his journey and the many practical discoveries he made along the way will impact anyone unsure or skeptical of who God is and what His plan is for their life.

For the believer, a deeper understanding of the kingdom of God is revealed. This book addresses the fundamental questions of why we exist and what our lives are meant for.

The stories and the secrets of God to be found in each of them are arranged as a 40-day devotional. Each day, a “breadcrumb” of truth leads the reader on a journey of discovery. A journey of growing intimacy with God and a deeper understanding of the kingdom Jesus commands us to seek.

Reviews
In The Whispered Shout, Pontzer joins the analytical with the supernatural. His book is packed with wisdom and invites us to perceive faith in a new light.

All right, I'll say it! I LOVE THIS BOOK! I want to take it to bed with me.

"The Whispered Shout" is what you get when you have an author who is obviously smart, is really funny ("funny" is different from just having a good sense of humor), REALLY writes well and honestly, and is spiritually mature, but still eager to learn. Every sentence in the book is better than THAT sentence, but I had a lot to say.

The author David Pontzer, first off, describes his surgery for a life-threatening aortic-valve crisis, and goes on to develop various themes into an immensely satisfying book that is part autobiography, part devotional, and part hoot. (For those of you who didn't have the honor and joy of growing up in central or western PA, that means hilarious.)

In regard to the humor that permeates the book, I offer up the author's description of the huge hallway in the ginormous surgical department of the Cleveland Clinic and the multitude of beds "parallel parked" in the hallway. Earlier, in confronting the nurse with a cold stethoscope, the author asked "Why do you keep that thing in the refrigerator?"

That kind of response will resonate with all of us who, partially clothed, have pounded our chests to stay warm in the waiting room of doctor's offices while awaiting some invasion of one of our beloved body parts.

Mr. Pontzer is honest in sharing his experiences in regard to his faith, including the times when, like us, he may not have been, well, a "titan" of the faith. He shares in numerous ways and circumstances his profound gratitude that we aren't saved by our own faith, which can be squirrelly at times, but by the grace of God, paid for by the shed blood of Jesus on a filthy, blood-soaked Roman cross.

Five stars, and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
