The first chapter about "Family" really happened to the Author, his Father and his Brother. It was so unique that it stuck with the Author for 25 years until he started telling it to his boys to help them go to sleep. The Authors Mother, Sally Robinson was also a story teller and she would make up tales on the spur of the moment to tell her children at bedtime. The Author also has this ability and chapters 2,3 and 4 about Friends, New Friends and Adventures were adlib stories that he would tell his young boys night after night when they were young. One day the Author decided to memorialize these stories and that is when Life Lessons from Sammy the Snapping Turtle was born. Toby Mikle a Professional Children's books illustrator adds color and fun to the pages of the book. Young Sammy ends up being a very wise Snapping Turtle and teaches the readers how to live a fulfilling life by getting along with his family, spending time with his friends, making new friends and having exciting adventures in the woods and rivers of his habitat.

I like the story "Life Lessons from Sammy the Snapping Turtle". It is fun to read and I especially like the Bunny Rabbit named Sophia. My favorite Character is Noah the Beaver, he likes to build things and so do I. My kids ask for the Sammy book all the time. They especially like when I make funny voices when saying the words, "Bugs and Worms". It is a nighttime favorite.

Kyle Robinson is a first time author. Life Lessons from Sammy the Snapping Turtle is a combination of a real life event and the authors imagination of other events in Sammy's life. Kyle told these stories to his four boys at bedtime. Be sure to emphasize the words, "Bugs and Worms" for maximum effect. |
