About the Book
Paul Gebhart returned from a one year tour of duty in Vietnam with an un-diagnosed case of post-traumatic stress disorder. His solution was to self-medicate but that decision turned out to be disastrous for his marriage. His wife of ten years will no longer put up with his behavior. She forces him out of their house and begins seeing new people, in search of a new husband.
As often happens, Gebhart realizes his loss but it is too late to save the marriage or even the relationship. After an acrimonious divorce, Gebhart has lost his family, his home and a woman who once loved him. Knowing that he needed to start anew, he travels to Europe to visit the major art museums in England, France, Amsterdam and Italy. The people and places he experiences help him to overcome the pain of separation and allows him to go on with his life in a positive, energetic style.
