The journey to parenthood is both exciting and scary. It is filled with things we don’t know, don’t understand, and can’t even begin to imagine. The joy of impending parenthood oftentimes overshadows the anxiety and uncertainty that comes along with it.

“We’re Not Ready for You!” is a humorous rhyming picture book that explores the trials and tribulations that come with impending parenthood. It helps bring some levity to what is a stressful time by acknowledging the fear that all parents experience. It is an easy to read book filled with colorful and engaging pictures in a unique art style. The book begins with the exciting moment of finding out you are going to be a parent. It then examines the planning and learning that happens in the 9 months before your baby arrives. The book culminates in the joy that being a mother or father brings. Despite all the sacrifices and the hard times, there is no greater job than being a parent.

 

 

About the Author
Gavin graduated from the University of Georgia in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Film studies. His creative journey has taken him down many different paths. He has worn many different hats; from a children’s entertainer at birthday parties, to a costumed character at theme parks. He is an actor, director, and writer who has been involved in award winning web series and projects around the country. Gavin is currently the Digital Media Manager for Underpriced Furniture in Georgia, where he makes his home with his Wife and Daughter.
