This is the third in a series of four books chronicling the life of one ordinary couple who lived an unordinary life to the fullest. The series recounts their successes and failures of meeting the demands of daily life. This book chronicles their experiences and adventures in retirement. They are among the lucky ones. They lived the American dream and lived to tell about it.
This book covers their adventures in retirement from 2003-2010. It chronicles their travels via RV throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. Shares their many wonderful memories of good people, beautiful scenery and great locales and captures the excitement of sharing a bare boat charter in the Virgin Islands with family. You are with them as they navigate the Panama Canal by ship from San Diego to Ft Lauderdale Florida maneuver the roads and roundabouts of the United Kingdom via car and enjoy the sights and sounds of was anything but exciting would be an understatement. This book is a reflection of the life and adventure that awaits all who dare “grab the brass ring”.

Patricia "Pat" Burns retired from her "day job" as Administrative Manager of the West Coast Law Department of CBS Inc. in 1995. After 30 years of herding "cats" in the form of egotistical lawyers and their support staff, she escaped the corporate environment of millennials and generation X occupants to pursue her real interests, writing and travel. In pursuit of her writing ambition, Pat launched a monthly newsletter that is now on line as PATSGAZETTE, authored innumerable blogs and family narratives. Two published books LIFE AS WE LIVED IT Book 1 and Book 2 share the adventures, failures, triumphs, successes and travel experiences of a marriage that spans 60+ years. She and her husband have traveled throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico by car and RV and visited over 100 countries in South America, Europe, Asia, and the mid-East.
Pat grew up in the hills of Southern Indiana. After High School she went to work for the Western Union Telegraph Company in Battle Creek Michigan where she met and married her husband, Ken, a California native. They have two grown children and two grandchildren and reside in Glendale, California. In addition to her full time employment, home maker and parental responsibilities Pat made time to attend night classes at San Diego Junior College and Glendale Community College where she sought to improve her business, writing and communication skills. Pat’s latest book, LIFE AS WE LIVED IT BOOK 3 is the third in a series of four books that memorializes the adventure, travel and life experiences of a life well lived. A fourth book now in draft stage relates their travel experiences during a 30 day South Pacific adventure in 2013 and a 58 day around the world Odyssey in 2015. |
