About the Book
|
In the 1940's World War II was raging all over Europe. The Russian army was fast approaching from the east. They eventually invaded what was then Yugoslavia in 1944.
This is the story of a young girl who was forced to flee at that time along with her wealthy family from her ancestral home, and idyllic life, leaving everything behind including her beloved pet goat "Ritzi". That young girl became my wife.
This story relates her experiences during that calamitous and frightening time, her subsequent immigration to the United States with family, and settling in Ohio.
Later, now married, she moved to South Mississippi. She and her husband have four children, and a full life including animals, world travel, and two disastrous hurricanes: Camille and Katrina.
