The Mercy Of Hope: Our Son's Battle With An Inoperable Cerebral
Aneurysm is a heart-stopping and moving story about our family's
triumph against the odds. The day Justin, our son, was diagnosed with
an inoperable mass in his brain his doctor left on vacation leaving
us with the wrong diagnosis, without medical support, and without
a clue to where we could take him for medical care. After being told
by the physician that they were unable to do anything to save our
son we brought him home, from the hospital, knowing that he could
die at any moment.
This is his story and how we found a new life lifesaving technique
that was 1300 miles from home, and our battle to overcome this life-changing
event. While my faith was shook to its very core, Justin's faith in
God never wavered leading me back to God.
Through my nursing skills and use of the Internet I was able to weed
through the massive amounts of information about similar medical conditions,
review available medical centers, and email a case history of our
son's condition to neurologists around the world. Several e-mails
later, I succeeded in making contact a physician who was practicing
a new procedure using a device called the Guglielmi coil.
This device is a new treatment for unapproachable brain aneurysms
and was performed in only about 20 facilities worldwide. The long-term
results of this treatment on a young person is unknown, however, with
this procedure they were able to not only save our son's life, but
save the quality of his life. The use of this procedure eliminates
the need for brain surgery creating a more positive outcome for you
or your loved one.
While our story is heart stopping and heartwarming, this book also
includes information about this new life-saving procedure, information
about aneurysms such as symptoms, risks, treatments, and complications.
Also, included are resources to assist you in your search for the
best medical care possible for your condition, and support. I have
added access to free information on how to effectively use the Internet
to empower yourself with accurate and factual medical knowledge. While
many doctors are still performing brain surgery it is possible that
they could be using this new technique sparing you or your loved one
from additional physical and mental impairments.
Articles from her daily journal about their experience have been published
in Homecare Nurse Journal, Pathos's Magazine, Woman's World,
and are indexed at Medscape's MedPulse.
