About the Book
After college, Henry Allen has no interest in the banking career his family has for him, so he flees to a small town in Georgia to become a teacher.

His off-the-wall style of teaching won him recognition with his students and his peers. Meanwhile, he falls in love with the preacher's daughter.

Henry and Foster Fitzgerald, a reknown older teacher, become old friends and decide to seek employment in a more prosperous area, and the older man convinces the fiery Evangelical preacher to allow his daughter Emma to go since the older teacher will watch over everyone.

Henry and Emma marry, move, get jobs and Emma produces twins, a boy and a girl. They enjoy the area and the people, and soon they find a small farm, and Foster Fitzgerald lives with them.

Henry and his family regain their past, and life is good until Foster dies in his sleep, but he has saved lots of money, which he leaves to Henry and Emma.

A strange student stashes two automatic pistols behind the blackboard with the intention of killing as many students as he can. When danger comes to his classroom, Henry attempts to prevent chaos.
