About the Book
ALL HE WANTS IS A SECOND CHANCE. ALL HE NEEDS IS A DREAM.

Having forsaken his true passion in favor of a life in the corporate stratosphere, a disillusioned “suit” obsesses over the memory of a spirited photographer in a remote oceanside village. Though deeply enchanted by the woman and a mysterious cove that seemed to sing his name, he has let them both slip away.

Now he wants to change his life and find her again.

To make that happen, all he needs is a dream.

Spellbinding poetry and visuals conspire to immerse us in the mind-bending journey of two lonely people in search of each other and themselves in Sand Dollar Seven–-a charmer fans are calling “a captivating, romantic mystery,” “poetic genius” and “a poetry masterpiece.”

POETRY WITH A PLOT

By presenting a complex mystery as illustrated verse, Bennett, James, an award-winning visual artist, breaks new ground. An ambitious work years in the making, Sand Dollar Seven wields conventions of both poetry and prose with equal skill, in a seamless meld that may leave you wishing for more story at story’s end.

Which means you may find yourself reading SD7 again and again. Each time you do you’re sure to find new surprises.

A VISUAL AND POETIC TOUR DE FORCE

Sand Dollar Seven is a metaphoric tribute to the very real power of our mind and heart to shape any future we desire. When the dream is strong enough–-when it is real enough–-it is never too late for a second chance.

About the Author
“He was drawing and singing at 18 months,” recalls Bennett’s mother. “He’s been doing both ever since.”

“Words and pictures telling a story together–-graphic novels, comics–-fascinate me,” says Bennett.

A grown-up Anglo-American “service brat”, Bennett resides in California with his lovely wife, scheming dog and snarky cat.
