About the Book
When political violence engulfs America, Vietnam Veteran Kenny Brewster’s obsession with freedom from duty and his compulsion to rescue others threaten his PTSD recovery and survival. The risk to his soul, however, is the war between the two.

Through struggles for security, efforts to halt an international plan to mitigate global warming, the witness of manipulation of a Presidential election, and the prophecy of cultural collapse, Kenny serves his community even as he seeks escape from the shadows of guilt that haunt him, escape to a place beyond the mortgage he feels on his soul, and arrival at his life beyond the blood chit.

Beyond the Blood Chit is a study of combat PTSD recovery in a dysfunctional world, a story of struggle to remain true to one’s self while compelled by duty to others, and a reflection of the power of love in the face of fear and hate. It is a glimpse into the mind of one reluctant old soldier and the hearts of a few solid citizens. It may be a prediction of things to come….
