YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD FOR SPACE CAMP is for anybody who's ever worked in a school. Or gone to a school. It follows the adventures of a generous mix of all manner of kids, teachers and administrators of all ages and life stages, each with their own unique set of hopes and dreams and pathologies, locked up in a building for nine months in the pursuit of that nebulous entity called "The Great American Education." Join them in August and see what happens by June on their romp through a typical school year. If there is such a thing.

Tom Anselm has been a teacher and administrator and teacher again since 1973. He writes a biweekly column for The Suburban Journals of St. Louis, MO called "A Boomer's Journal." He spends a lot of time trying to keep up with his growing brood of grandchildren, and he just got a new persimmon driver that he is dying to try out. |
