This is the first illustrated story about the Brainfill World of Rune County, a place where Runians worship a huge tall pile of old computer equipment at night during the two full moons, after they cross the wasteland and go deep into the Brainfill Forest of Isaiah and cast runes for divination and where things are born from the toxic waters of the moat that surrounds the computers. The creatures crawling from that soupy goop are yet to be developed, but certainly are sketched by the author and kept in notebooks.

This pink-skied world is an experiment of The What or Who Mind. That is the setting, the environment, the backdrop of this reality; not everything in this Cyber-Creation is revealed in this first book.

In Computer Worship and Pod Dragons in Rune County, fantastic things float from the pink sky: silicon chips and Motherboards, floppies in containers, passwords, cipher blocks, Petri dishes for later use, lab manuals and seed packages; then it rains. The seeds sprout in the backyard garden of No. 5 Noah Street.

Joshua Shagnasty IV is the tour guide for two wordy, nerdy reincarnated pod dragons, Wywick and Tywoppet, who are on a mission to study the world they find.

Joshua’s garden is a horticultural wonder near a vast, Oceanside forest.

The dragons and Joshua have lunch and discuss the world; the dragons tell what they like written in invisible sentences in the air: picnics on a summer day, peppermint leaves, steam baths, crystal balls, onyx rings, reading news on the wind, writing letters before breakfast and collections of amber.

Joshua is a five-year-old boy of genius mind and he and the dragons Tywoppet, and Wywick come to realize they live in someone’s story, that they are not living in a “New World” as such, but one imagined by his cousin, Katie.

She creates the story in a diary kept under large pieces of amethyst. She imagines Rune County one chapter at a time, the first one with twelve illustrations, she writes of a place just past the River Conscious. The dragons are nerds that talk to and relate to Joshua’s garden and his cat, Percival, and spiral storms of leaves and crows, runes translated, pet computers named Elf-Shelf and Joshua’s house, an old black stone Goth castle with a blue gargoyle on the roof.

The dragons collect artifacts in their supply pouch and write invisible sentences in the air and correct any punctuation errors, careful to cross the t’s and dot the i’s.

In reference to the creature inside the pet computer: it has a face that talks about networks, bridges, and bugs and memory sticks. It can see into the room, it knows about the boxes, the clutter, the teacups, and the big cathedral windows.
