A false accusation caused Taylor Davidson to lose his teaching job at a small Wisconsin college. It seemed to him his career was over when he was given an opportunity to join the faculty at a large university in Illinois. Davidson jumped at the chance to get back to his first love - teaching. The problem was the school did not want him to teach – the administration wanted his face and notoriety used on a local cable broadcast to promote the college and also wanted him to help an older professor finish his final paper. Davidson was steamed.

Turns out the professor had landed at a big-time football powerhouse. The Northern States Eagles were undefeated and dreaming of a shot at the national championship. Davidson quickly learned a great deal about the illegal activities of the athletic department and decided to go public with the information. That’s when the trouble started.

A cast of characters including a 300-pound ex-professional lineman who heads the booster club, a boyhood pal who also happens to be a mobster, a stud running back who hides behind a face he calls the Neanderthal, a gay quarterback whose father is a fire-and-brimstone preacher, the ex-professional baseball player and martial arts expert who also happens to be Davidson’s only friend, the girl with the mysterious background, and the bartender who drives his golf cart down the middle of the street carrying a revolver to dissuade any attack dogs. A host of other unique individuals make this a story that will resonate with anyone who enjoys a good story populated with interesting people.
