The First Lady of Music is the riveting story of the formation of the Rousseau family dynasty, which was spearheaded by the dashing young Frenchman, Alexandre Rousseau and his beautiful young Italian wife, Angelica Romano Rousseau. Together, they created a family of beautiful, ambitious, and remarkable children, which included the stunning and exotic superstar vocalist, Massina Rousseau, a gorgeous and immensely talented singer who endures numerous tragedies and life-altering losses to become one of the most successful performers in history.
At sixteen, Massina Rousseau is a young woman struggling with her own destiny. All of that changes when she meets Todd Cromwell, star quarterback and student body president who gives her the confidence to step forward into her destiny as one of the most captivating women the world would ever see.
Massina and her twin brother Tony share a formidable bond. They capitalize on their chemistry to create a sound that catapults both of them to the height of music superstardom while their father fights to build a billion-dollar software empire that drastically changes the family’s circumstances forever. The family’s magnificent musical legacy had its foundation with Angelica’s family, the Romanos. Angelo Romano, master musician and grandfather to the world’s most sensational musical duo, created the unique musical style that dazzled the world over.
Massina’s other brothers, Philippe, a future governor and Patrick, who was declared the Handsomest Man on the Planet, both enhance the world’s fascination with their remarkable family even more. Massina’s extended family includes: Theodora and Toni, estranged mother and daughter, who struggle to become successful solo artists in their own right; Nana, the reserved anchor of the family; Caroline, Massina’s ambitious and rebellious niece; and Hope, the villainous cousin who betrays Massina and causes a great amount of turmoil in Massina’s life.
In The First Lady of Music, we see the many sides of Massina’s intricate personality: the sweet and insecure young woman who is guided towards her eventual success by an array of supportive family members; the elegant lady who is graciously and humbly overwhelmed by her success; the aggressive businesswoman who reluctantly takes over her father’s fledgling empire; the vulnerable and sensitive ingénue who loses at love at almost every turn she takes.
The First Lady of Music is a journey into the life of one of the most remarkable families to ever grace the earth. It is a compelling story of tragedy, success, love, turmoil, evolution, and hope.
