This booklet was created to help explain the theories, applications and variances of Digital Video Storage and Recording equipment for the Security Industry.

Camera systems have been a part of the security industry for decades now and drastic improvements have been made to improve the performance and applications for their use. One of the most recent advancements is the development of Digital Video Storage and Recording. This allows the system user to utilize advancing Computer technology with their Video system to make the system more efficient. Digital Video opens the window for remote system accessibility, remote recording and storage, and definable search terms for retrieving important video footage.

Hopefully by the end of this booklet the reader will have a clearer understanding of the technologies currently being utilized. This should also give the reader a better understanding of which type of system is right for their facility both now and in the future.
