About the Book
I'm a nobody. I'm not a famous personality or a world-class athlete. I have no money, no influence and no hair. In short, I'm just like you.

Yet I am the new face of Cancer. I've looked the beast in the eye, and I'm here to tell you what I saw. Walk with me through the strange and scary desert called survival...Elt;br />
So begins One Year To Live?, the uproarious and moving memoir from brain cancer survivor Patch Rose. Originally published in the Herald newspaper of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, Rose's cancer essays earned Best Column awards in both 2006 and 2007 from the New Mexico Press Association.

Using a distinct, often hilarious, no-holds barred writing style, Patch Rose lays out the entire cancer experience, from diagnosis to treatment to the author's continuing efforts to crawl out from under cancer's black shadow. Rose's essays detail his first year of battle against an aggressive GBM brain tumor, while also surviving night terrors, colon-clogging chemotherapy, room-sized radiation drills and sugar-filled snack cakes.

One Year To Live? is based on Patch Rose's true-life story. It contains the original One Year To Live? cancer columns that appeared in the Herald Newspaper of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. These columns won first place in their division at the 2007 New Mexico Press Association awards; in 2006, they took second place. Patch has won five writing awards in the last four years.
